All I can say is I'm proud of you guys :D

Metode Penelitian dalam desain - untuk mahasiswa
Jadi kemaren malam saya baru saja kembali dari sesi bimbingan +
obrolan dengan salah satu pembimbing TA saya. Banyak masukan dan wawasan yang
membuat pengetahuan saya semakin banyak. Oooh ternyata S1 dkv itu seperti ini
ya.. Sebenernya setelah hampir 4 tahun kuliah ini saya baru ngerti bagaimana
sih cara kerja seorang desainer itu,
bukan hanya sekedar membuat sebuah desain saja, tapi bagaimana seorang
mencari solusi permasalahan, tapi kebetulan saya lagi baca bukunya si Jen + Ken
Visocky O’Grady yang berjudul “ A Designer’s
Research for Student
Designers
Literature Review
(Studi Literatur)
jadi kira2 beginilah skemanya :)
jadi kira2 beginilah skemanya :)
So, begitulah proses penelitian seorang mahasiswa desainer.
Intinya sih gitu-gitu doank tapi yaa tetep aja namanya sebuah proses pasti lieuurrr ..
terpecahkan, kita share bareng-bareng.

Brandung
Last week on the 7th till the 11th of December, in one of the most popular malls in Bandung, was held an exhibition about branding the city of Bandung or as they called it "Brandung". This exhibition was held by FDGI (Forum Desain Grafis Indonesia) and was participated by Visual Communication Design students and professors in Bandung. My friends who represented our University, choose the theme in sign system and way finding in the city of Bandung as their city branding.
They proposed the idea that Bandung as a city where local and international tourist visits on their holidays somehow have difficulty in reading the way findings on arriving in the airport or entering the city via highway. So they've redesigned the sign system on spots that needed more attention for the right sign system. The main change was the welcome sign from the highway which they made it more attractive and eye-catching with fancy designs. They've also made a tourist map showing the way to hot places in Bandung with cute icons. This whole idea was inspired by the existing Bandung logo (.Bdg) as a creative city. Below are the pictures of their works. Salute, my friends!!

Learn the Shortcut for photoshop
Admit it, photoshop can be much easier and faster with shorcuts from the keyboard. You don't have to search and try to find it with the mouse when you're in the middle of creating something in photoshop. Hope this would help you. I found this article via Bluefaqs.
Pic-tography
Ben Heine, a Belgian illustrator, painter, portraitis, cartunist and photographer got this incredible idea on how he managed to mix illustration and photography on one scene. He got this idea while reading a letter and he could see the television on the background of the letter. Turns out that it inspires him making this artwork. To see more of his artworks see Ben Heine's photostream.

Awesome Typhography-based poster
We may see around us the different types of posters with cool images and typography to give some certain message. It's not an easy task to make a poster that uses only typography and yet send the right message all at once, but when a good designer could accomplish that, his artwork becomes AWESOME ... see more posters here.

My First Ever Comic Work
So, it's been months since I havent post something. I was kinda busy this semester and my internet conecction is very deviously slow and doesn't allow me to upload photos or even open this blog page. I have been working a lot in making a comic this semester. It sounded really cool to make my own comic, but I dont think it's cool at all when it was finished xD. My drawings are horrible.. gosh but well i kinda feel satisfied in making them, coz took me a lot of insomnias and a bad sickness that i've been diagnosed recently. What makes me happy to see this is that even though my drawings suck, it still looks good overall xD yeay \m/
Here are some pictures from the process of making the comic. By the way it's about a folktale here in West Java about a woman who lives in the moon. I've rearranged the story to make it as a flashback on how the woman got to live in the moon. Should be a romantic type of tale, somehow my mom protest that romantic tales should be visually drawn with beautiful people, and not those kind of people that I draw LOL..
This is the second process actually after making the storyline and the sketch, the next thing is color it. For the base I use watercolors and I really love them coz it's so easy to use :D
The next step should be coloring it with pencils colors, I'm using the mix media technique, and yeah what a tiring work! 16 pages manually colored with pencil colors!!
After coloring it, Next move is putting the cloud bubbles!! wii. thankfully i could do it digitally, coz if not, my handwriting sucks hahaha. So after pasting it on their places here's how it looks..
Ok, after the comic's done, it's time to make the cover.. I really dont have any idea what cloud the cover be.. and i guess it doesnt fit with the contents but hell whatever, i could be dead if it's not finished by then.
yup.. you see... not compatible..
But anyway, i'm just glad i finished it on time. It kills me though but I should say i'm satisfied :D

Maybe you guys are curious or maybe not, or you would want to see it or not.. but anyways u SAW it HAHAH..
I hope it adds some new image in your head about letter anatomy, because really, nobody cares until they have to study it (especially for my dear juniors who are going to take typography course this semester, have fun guys!!).
That's it for now.. i'll be posting moooooree muahahahaha
